Copper mine triples wear life on 3.2 km tailings line

Challenge

Two booster stations on a 3.2 km tailings line were rebuilding pumps every eleven weeks. Every rebuild meant flying parts in from overseas and losing two production shifts.

Solution

Wear analysis showed the impellers were oversized for the actual line velocity. We supplied NZ-350 units with corrected hydraulics and A05 liners, plus a local consignment stock of wear parts and quarterly wear-scanning service.

Measured results

The consignment stock ended our spare-part anxiety. Rebuilds are now planned events, not emergencies.
